• EU and UNDP launch a EUR 2.4 million programme to boost private sector development in the Gaza Strip Nov 9, 2016

  The European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched today a new programme to rehabilitate and consolidate the Gaza Industrial Estate (GIE). The GIE is intended to work as a catalyst for industrial development in Gaza once fully operational.

  Two young women in Kosovo, frustrated by the low percentage of women in the technology sector, launched Girls Coding Kosovo, a non-governmental organization that empowers and trains women and girls in programming, engineering and computer science. A year later, the group has more than 500 participants and several products, including Walk Freely, an app aimed at fighting sexual harassment.

• New platform to help countries localize the Sustainable Development Goals Oct 10, 2016

  On the occasion of the World Summit of Local and Regional Governments and ahead of the Habitat III Conference, the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments (GTF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) launched www.LocalizingTheSDGs.org – a pioneering knowledge and information sharing platform on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) universally agreed by world leaders in September 2015 in New York.

  The EU-UNDP project “Rada for Europe” will focus on strengthening the capacity of the Verkhovna Rada to produce quality legislation and monitor its implementation, in particular the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, and serve as a model and driving force for the reforms.
